I keep dipping into this thread without giving any thought to how it works, so I'm going to do the second bit now.

Are you saying, 8ace, you go £50 on 0.5+ goals at skinny odds and then do something a bit more speculative as soon as kick-off happens, knowing that the in-play bet will be refunded if it doesn't come off?

Or did you wait for the first goal to go in so you knew your in-play bet was risk free?

Cheers mate. Think I'll have a bit of this.

Can see us getting stuffed by Chelsea today, so over 1.5 goals, and -2 Chelsea in play.

It's a good offer. The best 'offer' I've ever benefited from was when I got a £20 match bet from Paddy, had £20 on 3-0 Celtic against St Johnstone at about 14s, and put the free bet on the same. Won about £500.

Only certain games mate, they send an email when it they are doing it.

I cover the first bet with about £5 on No Goalscorer (usually about 10/1) so it is pretty much risk free.
I decide what I'm doing once the game started, sheebo won with TSIBH last time so I gave that a go.

Did £30 on over 0.5 today in Stoke v Man U and as soon as they kicked off (within 20 seconds!) did £30 on over 2.5 to double my money. Currently 1-1! Need another from somewhere

Could be bothered to put too much in to the 365 account so I did £15 for the draw (5/2) then did £15 on a Draw no bet (3/1) then used waited till Stoke went 1 up to back Manure with the free in play bet (9/4)

Will now use the £50 on the next one

Darren, the best pre match bet is under 3.5goals in first half - very rarely will it happen & you can always wait 30 mins or til half time to be safe and then use the risk free in play bet...

I must add again, they used to do this offer 3 or 4 times a YEAR and have done about 4 of these in 2 weeks so obviously they feel they make money from it. People are not being disciplined and withdrawing their money if the in play loses - pls be disciplined people :)

I match at ht to lock in £33 odd regardless, but over 0.5 goals as the quali followed by the draw straight after ko risk free and you kop the lot if it's a draw

I'm getting involved here and I want the safest return possible. So can one of the proper NSC punters just check I'm doing this right:

Man Citeh v Barcelona:

£50 on 0.5+ goals before the game
Cover that bet with £4 on 0-0 at 14/1 (Ladbrokes)

Then in-play, bet up to £50 on whatever you like - but I suppose the way to guarantee a (small) return is to make an in-play bet on 0-0.

It all depends on what your in-play bet is but I think it leaves these scenarios:

Game finishes 0-0: The first £50 is refunded, the Ladbrokes bet pays out, and so does the in-play bet. Probably the best scenario.
Game finishes with goals, but the first is scored in the first minute: The first £50 pays out, you lose the £4 Ladbrokes bet, and the in-play bet is not free so no need to make it. Second best scenario. You make whatever price you get on the first bet, less £4
Game finishes with goals, but the first is scored after you make your in-play bet: The first £50 pays out, you lose the £4 Ladbrokes bet, and you lose your in-play stake too. Least desirable.

Can anyone think of a better way of more-or-less guaranteeing a pay-out at minimal risk? 8ace, Paxton Dazo, Bozza, sheebo

And by the way, how do you bet on +0.5 goals in the game? On the bet365 site, they only seems to offer odds on 2.5+ goals. ???

Never back 0-0. Always back No Goalscorer, the odds will be identical but if the only goals scored in a game are own goals then you will be paid out, as own goals do not count in the goal scorer market but they do in the correct score market.

Does this work...

£50 on Man City or Draw at 3/4
Then £50 in play on Barca which should be around 11/10.

Barca win - i am up £5
Man city win or draw - i am up £37.5

Reading this Simster I think you think that the First pre match bet you place has to lose in order to get the free in play bet (Bit of a mouthful but think it makes sense), it doesn't, You just have to MAKE a bet pre match, it's outcome is immaterial, in order to get a free £50 in play which is refunded (about an hour after) if you lose after the match.

Personally I'd Bet on +0.5 goals, back the 0-0 as a cover so you are in a no lose situation as you described. Then, in play I back next goalscorer. It's a lottery but as I see its a free 50 quid (well, it will probably cost you £2 or so in the above situation but anyway) and you may as well try and win big with it. Nothing ventured and all that. As the £50 is refunded there is little point backing something at short odds.
