Albion staged a spectacular second-half comeback to earn a share of the spoils against fellow play-off contenders Millwall at the Amex. The Lions came into the match having lost just once in 15 games and they carried on with that form as they stormed into a two-goal lead. The Lions broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, when former Seagulls loanee Chris Wood netted from six yards before doubling his tally twelve minutes into the second half with a stunning long-range strike. Four minutes later, Albion substitute Kazenga LuaLua unleashed a spectacular effort of his own to get the Seagulls back in it, before David Lopez equalised from the spot with two minutes remaining.

Kazenga LuaLua’s thunderbolt free-kick two minutes from time salvaged a point for Gus Poyet’s Albion side at the Amex. Millwall’s new signing Andy Keogh gave his side the lead with a close-range header in the 23rd minute. The Lions should have been two goals clear early in the second half but Liam Trotter’s 20-yard drive was clawed out by Peter Brezovan before Keogh squandered an excellent close-range chance. That miss proved costly as Albion went straight up the other end and Sam Vokes poked home in the 52nd minute to draw the Seagulls level. Twelve minutes later, Liam Feeney restored the Millwall’s lead but LuaLua’s last-gasp set piece extended Albion’s unbeaten run to seven matches.

Glenn Murray came off the bench to score twice and get two assists as Albion secured back-to-back league victories for the first time that season. Murray put the Seagulls ahead with a well-taken goal a minute before the break, but Lions striker Tresor Kandol levelled with his fifth goal in nine league starts. Murray struck again from the penalty spot at the second time of asking after a foul on winger Joe Anyinsah. Bradley Johnson put the result beyond doubt with his third goal in two games by impressively converting a Murray pass midway through the second half. Dean Cox then sealed Albion’s biggest league win of the season by thumping in another Murray cross nine minutes from time.
