Sami Hyypia is backing his other players to step up to the plate in the absence of Elliott Bennett ahead of today’s trip to face Norwich City at Carrow Road.

Bennett is ineligible to face his parent club, but Hyypia believes it is a perfect opportunity for other players to stake a claim for a regular place in the side.

He told seagulls.co.uk, “He's a good player and has done well for us. We knew already that we needed to play this game without him."That's how it is and another player needs to step up and be on top of their game to play well for us.
