Brighton & Hove Albion women’s manager James Marrs says his side are full of confidence going into Sunday’s match against Charlton Athletic at Culver Road, and hopes that his players have learned from the 4-1 defeat in the reverse fixture earlier this month.
*
The Seagulls suffered their second defeat of the season at the hands of the Addicks, but Marrs believes his squad have improved considerably since that match.
*
He told seagulls.co.uk, “It will be a very tough game, as they’re probably full of confidence after going on a great winning run, but we know what we have to do to win the game and it’s up to us to get out there and do that.
*
“There are lots of lessons to be learned from the last game against them and the most important one was to work as a team and they showed us how you do that.
*
“They’ve got some good technical players that can finish from a range of distances and I’d imagine it will be quite an open, expansive game, but we know what we need to do to make sure we don’t concede any sloppy goals.
*
“I’m sure that we’ll work much better together as a team on Sunday and definitely put in a better display than we did in the last match against them.”

Albion also enter the match on a three-game winning streak in all competitions and Marrs almost has a fully-fit squad of players to choose from, with Danielle Carlton (knee) and Vicky Ashton-Jones (knee) both nearing returns to action.
*
“Winning breeds confidence, so being unbeaten in the last three games should stand us in good stead, but more importantly, the players know what they’ve got to do.
*
“We’ve nearly got a fully-fit squad at the moment. Danielle and Vicky are not far off and it’s just a case of them getting some game time in the development squad and a few more training sessions under their belts.
