Well done SH for picking Walton. We know what Ankergren can do. He can't catch crosses, he can't punch them clear either, he stays on his line, his reflexes are slow and gives the back 4 absolutely no confidence whatsoever. There is no point in playing him at all.

I'm guessing by the CAPS that this is you doing your troll persona.

Looking forward to seeing Walton - there is absolutely no chance that he can be worse than Flappergren, who would undoubtedly do at least 2 howlers - but it will go one of two ways, he'll have a great game and be pushing for a first team spot, or he'll do badly but it'll be an invaluable learning experience and massively contribute to his development. Win-win.

This. I can't believe people think that this is a bad move. Clueless.

Can't understand some of the comments. There is NO pressure whatsoever on Walton tonight.

This - everyone will be expecting us to get a beating anyway so can't see how he's under any pressure. And he needs the chance to get a game in and better here to start than in the league.

Hyypia's second to last game (hopefully!)

Good to see Walton is now second choice ahead of the useless Casper who should have left in the summer.

or is it that stockdale may be out saturday so ankergran is first choice ??? so Walton Number 2 ??

Not much different to Stockdale for the first dozen games then??? Although hopefully he has turned the corner now. That might explain why he isn't playing tonight, the man had a blinder on Saturday and has played in the league cup already this season, so drop him for the big one,,,,,mmmmm nice one Sammi.

Steaming pile of shit found in a locker. On closer inspection it was identified as Hyypia's managerial CV.

Interesting team. The midfield is the one that should start every game. Paddy gets a second start, KLL and Colunga could be good. Defence, well who knows what will happen but good experience for Chicksen and Walton. Should be a good evening.

I can't understand all the comments about Walton getting ruined. He's no fool, if we do get battered he's hardly going to beat himself up over it unless he makes a howler. Good experience for him and a great show of faith by the manager. Best of luck to him and the rest of the team.

Of the 11 starting for Tottenham tonight only one started against Newcastle at the weekend. This is very much a squad cup tie with strength on the bench. Let's see how we go. In the bigger picture the game v Bournemouth on Saturday is much more important. Apart from Walton all our team have had first team game time this year. It should be interesting. Hopefully the players will rise to the occasion as they have done in recent times v Premiership opposition.

Ankers is on the bench tonight , he was sent out midway through the first half on Saturday to do some stretches by the touchline after Rotherham started to apply some pressure possibly to show Stockdale he could still be subbed.

What has playing in the cup already got to do with it? Kemy has played in the league cup already, fancy giving him a game?
