AV wouldnt do anything for this scenario (or just about any scenario, why it was roundly rejected). this is due to the distribution of population and seats, along with tribal voting patterns. Labour seats are smaller so they need fewer voters.

Really? We actually bothered to have a referendum about a system that isn't any good?

Tories dominate UK parliament with 36% of votes cast.

Madness.

(In other words, 76% of the British electorate did NOT vote Conservative yet still got a Tory government)

That's the system we all have to put up with. It stinks and does not provide proper representative government, yet no one seems interested in changing it.
