I thought Solomon going through his phone looking for all his 'great ideas' and coming up with some real monkey tennis belters was funny.

But trying to walk through a window to escape an angry Claude was one of the great Apprentice moments.

Solomon should have said "You're Tony Hayres, I'm Alan Partridge, a-haa!"

No 2nd series for him...

Yes his business plan was torn to shreds but I still think Soloman came out of this amazingly well.

Just pure enthusiasm. In the old Apprentice format he would have been a real challenger much in the mould of inventor Tom.

Solomon clearly didn't give anywhere near as much of a shit about the whole process as any of the other candidates. Very smart kid, great qualifications, he knows he'll be fine with or without this.

I hate all the sucking up when they get fired now. It was 'Thanks for the opportunity' Then it moved onto 'I've had an incredible experience' and now it's 'Thankyou Lord Sugar for the opportunity, Thankyou Nick, Thankyou Karen, Thanks to the camera man, Thanks to the guy who does the voiceover, thanks to the team who put the music over the top'

It's about time someone stood up and said 'You know what, I didn't want your shitty investment anyway. Nick, a robot on skunk could do a better job on Countdown, Sugar, you make a fortune selling tinpot computers and have lived on your reputation for years, Karen, stick to flogging porn for Gold'

That'd be worth a watch.

As a warm up here for Sunday's final, here is the wonderful Apprentice piss take made by those wonderful chaps at Modern Toss. All 5 episodes are on youtube. Below Episode 1 where Business Mouse gets into the Theme park business with theme park Peter.

This is the first series I've ever watched in full and never realised how much the final eps make a mockery of the entire process.

Can't say I'd want a woman who's team has won in spite of her a few times and can turn any emotion on at the drop of a hat in business with me if I was a wealthy chap like Sugar.

Solly would have pissed it through to the final two if he'd made a business plan, what a div.

My one big moan about this series, being someone who works in sales is the whole Mark being the worlds best salesperson. If someone comes to my work for some mundane reason and they leave with a product you've persuaded them into, it's selling. If someone comes up to you, asks you a few questions about a product and then asks for 7, it is not selling, it is luck. But in both areas, Apprentice and my job, it's the 7 sales chap that is portrayed as king.

Which is why most people, including myself thought it was better when the prize for winning was a job with Lord Sugar at the end of it. Can guarantee that Bianca wouldn't have made it to the final if that was still the case. However, I think she'll win now. She has really improved over the last couple of weeks and I think her idea is pretty much confirmed as a money maker.

Plenty of people (esp The_Viper , Pavilionaire) have touched upon the flaws of this show:

1) Sales: ignores the large slice of luck involved. There needs to be a judge element to this
2) The business idea: ignored until the end. Why? Stupid idea and makes a mockery of the process.
3) How the task winner is determined: Sometimes pure cash as the winner is ridiculous. Like the tour coach task with Karen Brady whinging how she expected better food as part of a £90 coach tour. No shit Karen, but who cares if profit on this ONE task is the only thing that matters.

It's frustrating because they are all fixable with a bit of thought and that show would then run and run with a decent premise. Instead, people are only tuning it to watch gobshites to make themselves look like total tossers, which is fine for giggles of course, but as far as I'm concerned is beginning to get very boring.

I think they have to change the format of the show for next time. Basically, Solomon was fired PURELY for not preparing a thorough business plan. This fact would have been known by the producers when selecting the candidates for the show.

Similarly, Roisin was discounted purely because her business plan was naïve. On Dara's show "You Fired" Roisin have overwhelming audience sympathy and a sea of green "You're Hired" cards.

When you commit 11 weeks to a series and you pick your favourites there needs to be some sort of coherency and logic about how the programme works. I agree that the original Apprentice concept made perfect sense and the business plan is completely at odds with the weekly tasks, but I suppose Sugar just got fed up being sued by disillusioned Apprentices.

Solomon probably remembered how Inventor Tom was hired by Sugar for being "An ideas man", a creative geek who's inventions would make Sugar a lot of money. In the end Sugar just got Tom to continue his curved nail file product and cashed in on that.

The bottom line is that it looks very much as though last year's anti-ageing skin treatments for women winner is now going to be followed up by coloured tights for ethnic women. I question whether Sugar is actually up for ANY of these products.

Agreed and at the end of every series I vow not to bother with the next one ...... until it starts and I end up watching it all !

It is good TV entertainment. It makes so called great business people look ridiculous. Normally the winner is worthy though.
Does anyone know how the past winners have got on in life?

This. It is a tv programme. As you say, the winners get a chance and some of them have taken it. Watching deluded wannabees make fools of themselves is entertaining and what is intriguing is that it would appear half of them have never watched the show before because they tend to fall for the same pitfalls.

Nick Hewer has just tweeted that he is jacking in the Apprentice after Sunday. Guess he is sticking to falling asleep to the Countdown click.

Bring Claude Littner in? Mind you, he wouldn't be there to maul the candidates at the interview stage.

I think Sugar should be replaced as he is hopelessly out of touch with the modern day working methods. As for his rather awful jokes the candidates "laugh" rather awkwardly to it is pretty dim.

Maybe Karen Brady should take the chair.
