It’s just another game more for us; nothing more, nothing less."
James Marrs

Brighton & Hove Albion women manager James Marrs has told his players to ignore the hype surrounding tonight's match against Gillingham. The Seagulls take on the Gills at Culver Road, 7.45pm kick-off, with Marrs and several of Albion’s new additions taking on their former club for the first time.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “A lot more has been added to the build-up to this game than needed to be, but we are just going to focus on what we’re going to do tonight, which is the most important thing for us.
“We’ve got a really tough test ahead of ourselves, but we have prepared well in training this week, so we should be set up right and ready to go.
“It’s an opportunity for us to try and continue from a half-decent opening day performance, so it’s definitely a game we can win, but also one we can slip up in and get beaten.
“It’s just another game more for us; nothing more, nothing less.”

Tonight’s game will be the first game in 11 days for the side, after Albion received a bye to the next round of the Premier League Cup following Norwich City’s forced withdrawal from the competition due to a high number of injuries last Sunday.“It never helps when you don’t play and the girls just want to get on the pitch. You want to play as many games as you can, build up as much confidence as possible and try to keep your match sharpness.
“We trained on Sunday and the intensity was very good. We certainly won’t be using a lack of game time as an excuse for tomorrow night, as we’ve certainly done enough preparation on the training ground in order for us to be firing on all cylinders.”
Rosie Kmita is unavailable for the match, while Charlotte Gurr has been ruled out with an ankle injury picked up in the opening day victory over Copsewood.
There is free admission for all Albion season-ticket holders on production of their card and children under-16, otherwise entry is priced at £3.
