He seems quite a thoughtful bloke. I didn't enjoy his football, but squad injuries didn't help.
He'll do a solid if unspectacular job for you.

He worked wonders to get us to 6th last season, given the squad and Poyet hangover.
Having said that the football bored me to tears on occasion - there was one match where (admittedly quite pissed) I almost fell asleep.
Would probably go up with a squad like Watford's I would say. Shoo-in for the playoffs.

Sherwood's an egomaniac who'd be a disaster, in my opinion.
Anyway, Hornet in peace, this has been a fascinating thread, thanks all.
I'm not going to lie, I didn't expect Garcia's name crop up and had absolutely no opinion of him. I still don't as he seems to have split your supporters base.
He'll probably end up going to dirty Leeds now.
I can't see it at all ... confident he's far too intelligent to end up with those screwballs. They so deserve a Lennon/Davies character, with a bit of luck they get both (Lennon September, Davies October)
On the other hand if he goes to Leeds we can change his nickname from Juan Season to Juan Month.
I don't think he has necessarily split our fan base. I would say that the majority would agree that the football, despite the final league position was not very entertaining to watch. No one can deny that he was incredibly unlucky with injuries, so we cant saying that given a fully fit squad we would not have have played fast attacking entertaining football. He did not hang around long enough for us to find out.
I really don't have anything bad to say about him, he was incredibly inoffensive, he never seemed to blame anyone for a defeat, not the ref, other teams players, the club management etc. I liked him as our manager and he was exactly what the club needed after slightly mad Gus. I was sad when he left. It will be interesting to see how he does if he goes to Watford. My only doubt about him would be his ability to see a project through.

perhaps I've phrased it badly - there seems to be a split between those who think he plays dull football as a managerial style & those who think he was hamstrung by circumstance.
On one of our forums someone's pointed out that temperamentally, Garcia sounds like he's the calming influence we may well need after Sannino's presence which is rumoured to have been.....divisive & chaotic.
He'll be taken on to take us up. That's about it. If he doesn't get us up this year, he'll probably get the bullet.

He's a bottler. Did well under difficult circumstances but ultimately, a bottler. To not give it another season was poor on his part.

Good manager, who made the best of what he had available to him.
Like others have said, the squad was Poyets and personally I think he would do much better with the squad we have now.
At times the football was boring, but it was effective. He made the play offs with a squad decimated by injury, a rubbish transfer policy and with a couple of star performers sulking. Our defensive record, lack of goals and the fact that our player of the season was a centre back might give an indication of what it was like.
Bizarrely being effective and making the most of the players you have was what some of the biggest moaners on NSC used to use as a reason to shout about getting rid of him. E.g they didn't think he was effective or made the most of the players.....

No problem. The trouble is we will never know what he could have achieved because he was not here long enough. Most sane fans, giving all the circumstances he inherited were willing to give him a season, providing we were not in danger of getting relegated to sort things out. I think if he was still here and we continued to play the same way then I think you would see a lot more complaining.
Target being the key word ... 'Victim' even more appropriate

I'm fairly shocked all of a sudden two championship clubs want him - Leeds would be an unminigated disaster I'm certain of that - he'd just be a scapegoat in the crazy chairmans world. Watford... Undecided, depends on if he changes the tactics he used last season with us which you'd think he would given Watfords squad.
Knowing Oscar though, he seems like a pretty bizzare man in many ways so he'll probably choose Leeds.
