I know it's a cliche but he's still very young. He has 'potential', thats probably the safest position to take with him currently.

Like many other fans I'm willing him on. Be very satisfying to see him come through the ranks and perhaps develop into an Albion 'great'. And yes he is only 20. That's the positive pitch.

On the flip side, he's made little noticeable progress in the last couple of seasons and he has a worrying habit of giving the ball away cheaply and going missing in certain games. His strike rate for a midfielder is also poor.

We may have to concede that just because he's a young guy that's no guarantee he'll be the next Steven Gerrard by the time he's 25.
