How do the busses manage to get affected?! It's rain with a bit of thunder. Happens every year.

This might explain it. This is part of the route the 1 & 1a would take.

From Brighton There's 2 cancellations around now but all others are reported to be on time. Arun valley is all on time, 20 minute delays between hove and Brighton till 9ish.

If there's one thing about our trains, be it Southern or National Rail, it's their pathetic organisation when things to a bit t*ts up, they just fall to pieces. I particularly love the 'up to 20 min' delays today, when everything at SBS is just cancelled or permanently delayed. Great communication here, screenshot taken at 7:45

Pretty nasty driving through Worthing this morning, touch and go whether the road would flood too much, but OK once out past that.

On the 1a now. The storm can't be that bad as there's no sense of communal experience yet. Everyone's gazing at their handheld devices as per usual.

I'm sure there is probably a meteorological reason for it, but can anyone that knows these things explain why the rain seems to intensify immediately after a clap of thunder?
