He added, “The manager's thoughts are very team related, he wants everyone to be united on and off the pitch - we like that approach so it has been good. He puts his thoughts across well and wants everyone to respect each other and that is what we are about.
“You get to spend a lot of time with each other on pre-season, so you get to know one another better, including the new lads and the younger ones coming through. It gives everyone a chance to bed in with us and it will stand us in good stead for the season.
“Everyone is genuinely enjoying training, there is a lot of football and since the first day the quality has gone up massively and everyone is getting used to what the manager wants.*
“It is a new system we are playing this year so it will take a few weeks to adjust but this season is going to be another good test for us. Hopefully this season we can take it that couple of steps further."
