“It is an ideal opportunity for us to get some fitness and team bonding ahead of the new season.

“We have enjoyed working with the new manager. It’s been a learning curve about how he wants us to play and his plans for the new season.“All the running has been tough, but it is about us getting fit and hopefully we’ll be better prepared than the other teams.
“The Spain trip is all about fitness and trying to find a bit of form. If you go into the start of the campaign feeling fit, then it can only give you confidence going into the first match.”
Solly is expecting two tough tests, after a 5-0 pre-season curtain raiser victory over Lewes last Saturday.
“Betis played in La Liga last season and Partick Thistle are a Scottish Premier League side, so they’re going to give us good tests.
“Everyone is looking forward to the start of the season; if we continue our good preparation and get a win against Sheffield Wednesday [on the opening day], then that will stand us in good stead for the campaign.”
