David Rose - the only shop I'll miss.

This ... getting fitted for my footy boots ... Didnt just try to sell you any old pair actually took pride in trying to sell you what suited you best regardless of price . Often recommended a cheaper pair if suited you better

Lastly, Virgin megastore in Western Road. spent many hours / pocket money in there, browsing the records, posters etc.

I miss the one in CS. Was my first workplace in Brighton and I saw many good friends lose their jobs and their passion , people who loved music and had worked at Virgin for decades. Contrary to popular belief the staff in those stores were very passionate and knowledgable. Had 3 very good years working there.

I notice "Bench" on the corner of North St and West St has closed - did they go bust ???
A few years ago everyone seemed to be wearing their clobber, all I bought was a pair of shorts their once - had trouble getting them to stay up

Originally Burtons? subsequent shops maybe on short leases, I think.

That eccentric hobby-shop Valelink in Queen Street run by the rather contrary John Trory. Always good for a rummage and a laugh at his "political uncorrectness".

Please open up another place John.

Thought that was still going?

Was it Di Marco Bros. or similar along London Road opposite St. Peter's Church? Used to do a glorious whippy ice cream dipped in choccie hundreds & thousands.

Isnt Di Marcos on the prom, near the King Alfred, in Hove?
