So it all comes down to two 90 minutes of football - separated by 150 miles. Reading versus Burnley, and of course Nottingham Forest versus Brighton & Hove Albion.
Official league sponsors and the Seagulls' betting partner Sky Bet have made their verdict public by offering odds of 1/3 for the Royals to make the playoffs, against 9/4 for Brighton.
Let's take the Reading game first. Sky Bet offer 13/5 on a draw, and that is a price worth taking. There is a train of thought that the Burnley players will not want to risk injury with the Premier League looming, but an alternate view is that they will also want to make sure that they are retained over the summer. They have a great away record, Reading have a lousy home one. A draw seems entirely likely.

That would leave Albion requiring a win and the positive thing is that they are 6/5 favourites to do just that, with Forest 2/1 and the draw again priced at 13/5. Not discounting the emotional rewards that a win might bring but I am going to play the insurance bet and plump for the draw @ 13/5, while hoping that former Seagulls Ashley Barnes does us a favour or two at the Madejski!
In the goalscorer list David Lopez is overpriced at 10/1, but there are doubts over whether he will start, so instead we will plump for Kazenga LuaLua to score at any time @ 4/1. *After belatedly breaking his seasonal duck last week, LuaLua will undoubtedly be fired up for this game.
Good luck and happy punting. Hopefully we'll all be back here next Thursday!*
