How this should have played out:

Cornwall: "We want to be a minority!!!!11!!!1111"
Government: "Stop wasting out time and money. Goodbye"

How much money would have been saved if that was the extent of the conversation?

Probably not enough to cover the costs of the utterly inevitable "human rights" court cases to Europe I'd imagine.

I don't see that this changes anything. They won't get any extra rights as such, because Cornish-ness isn't a protected characteristic under the equality act.

Basically (from what I can gather) they just get recognition.

[I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong...]

Equalities forms are being redesigned as we speak all over the land. Those who were born in Cornwall can now tick British, English or Cornish. I'm all for equalities but I'm not sure what this brings. People on this board are sometimes anti-Cornish but that could be said for the North .....

Any Cornish based Seagulls care to enlighten us any racial abuse, prejudice or discrimination they may have experienced because of their Cornishness, perceived or actual?
