Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Oscar Garcia tonight praised his side’s character and spoke of his pride in his players, after their goalless draw at Barnsley.
The result leaves Albion five points adrift of the SkyBet Championship play-off places, but Oscar says his players are giving everything in the pursuit of a top-six finish.
"In the last two games we have shown a lot of character. In the first half today we didn't play so well but we wanted to win and in the second half we were much better.*
"I look at the performance of my players and I feel they did what I asked of them. I cannot criticise them and say that they could have played better. They have given everything and I am proud of them.*
"We were the better side, we created the best chances – but we didn't take them. Early on Barnsley pressed us high, with energy and they are playing not to get relegated. So you expect that they will start the game like that, but in the second half we knew they would start to tire."
