Another game of two halves. First half we were brilliant and should have scored two or three. Second half we were poor for a long period but improved in the last 15 minutes. We looked like we cared today and played with enthusiasm, unlike the Watford debacle. An enjoyable game to watch for 70 of the 90.

Kuszczack 6. Distribution poor. Too much booting aimlessly upfield. Worrying.
Bruno 6. Some moments of brilliance mixed in with some sloppy defending. Doesn't matter how good he is going forward, he's a DEFENDER and he needs to be a lot better at that side of his game.
Greer 4. Slight improvement over the Watford game, but far too many misplaced passes and generally sloppy play.
Upson 7. Good game against a poor Donny attack.
Ward 8. Defended well and great cross for the goal plus a couple of other excellent crosses.
Ince 7. Not one of his best games, but strong on the ball and, with a couple of exceptions, some useful distribution.
Stephens 5. OK game. He obviously needs more time to work with the squad. Jury's out for the moment.
Orlandi 6. Decent enough game, but not yet back to his best. Would have liked him to have more of the ball.
Rodrigues 7. Looked to be a decent player. Reaction a bit slow once or twice in the first half.
March 8. Excellent game, particularly in the first half. Strong on the ball and some great ball control. Would have liked him to shoot on a couple of occasions rather than pass.
Ulloa 6. Getting better. Well taken goal. Better at holding the ball up than last week.

Subs:
Lua Lua 6. Would have liked him to have had more of the ball.
David 5. OK
Obika. Not on long enough.

Manager 8 ... for starting with such an attacking line-up, for starting with March, and for dropping Lopez.

You think he should be marked higher because he got thumped? I think he looks low on confidence and short of pace at the moment, perhaps he'll be boosted by the goal. Let's hope so, we need to be a lot better on Tuesday night.

Not at all. A target man should get walloped, but he was actually wrestled to the ground a couple of times. He's been pretty average since he came back from a busted foot - just don't think he was average today. As has been said before, it's a game of opinions.

The other problem was on the attack there was no vision, no one looking to see who was making the line beating run, so by the time it was spotted that, for example, Rodriguez was going to make a run in behind, he is already offside, so the ball is played back or across, or more often none of the players notice leading to frustrated fans. Because of the way Doncaster played, it was more important to see those options and pass it before they slip offside, on the few occasions they did, the pass was behind them of through their legs rather than in front of them, pushing them wide rather than setting them through on goal. We also need to have different players make different runs in the box, too oftne either they all go neat post, or all go in close for the cross the goal mouth ball and no one hangs back for the pull back.

This. He made some brilliant runs. Our established players really need to learn how to use him.

He is definitely getting nearer his best, was awful against Birmingham.

Top Kat 5.5, shaky moments and his distribution needs to improve
Bruno 7.5 exciting, got forward, did his defensive work
Greer 4 meh
Upson 7.5 solid and reliable
Ward 7.5 haven't seen him play so far up the pitch before, and a great cross for the goal
Ince 7.5 sat deep, but did some great stuff, woeful heading
Stephens 5.5 so-so, made a few mistakes, but got in the box on a number of occasions -- which is good
Orlandi 6 did OK, but didn't show the vision he can, some poor set pieces
March 6.5 he's an exciting prospect, but no real end product today
Ulloa 6 there was only one place that header was going -- let's hope that a switch has been flicked
SD*2 7.5 really promising, rapid, some great runs

KLL 8 thought he was brilliant, injected some dynamism, went round players easily, let's hope he tears Leeds apart on Tuesday

Ulloa 5 good goal but otherwise poor. The guy we signed last season would've scored 4 .

That is SO true.

Clearly been unsettled during the transfer window.

Either that or he's not fit.

Whichever one it is, if we,re to have any chance of making the play offs he needs to get his arse in gear.

All about 6.5. Decidedly unimpressed by two Ulloa misses. Perhaps, the wind could be blamed? Then the new Spaniard* shot instead of crossing to Ulloa and the keeper had to make a good save at the south end. Ward was offside for the goal when he first collected the ball but the lino was not up with play. (* He did not look impressed either when crossing on a plate for him!)

I give MOM to the Peregrine Falcon that flew over at 66 minutes, but quickly got bored and flew away. Then Lualua went on one of his quick bursts.

Tomas 5 Nearly caught out by long balls a couple of times and kicking woeful. Can only assume his yellow boots are sponsored by Fyffes.
Bruno 7 some typical flair moments and fewer catastrophes. Looked our most creative player
Greer 5 Too many long balls and looks like he will get caught in possession too often
Upson 6 Still a bit wobbly by his own standards of excellence
Ward 6 Great cross for the goal, defending adequate but beaten too easily
Ince 5 Good breaking up play but too many simple balls went to opponents
Stephens 5 Some fine blocks but he and Ince alongside each other means zero creativity
March 5 Started well but bizarre decision to move him into more central role curbed his effectiveness. When he's on the ball exciting, but it doesn't happen often enough
Orlandi 5 Our lock picker clearly left his tools at home
Ulloa 6 One goal, one offside goal, one booking, looked better with a foil playing off him.
Rod 5 Certainly fast, Not sure of his effectiveness but worthy of a other start Tuesday

Subs

Kaz 6 Gets people off their seats but still frustrating
Dave 5 Continues to be very meh compared to last season
Obika 5 Not sure he is the answer to our striking concerns.

We were the better team today but Rovers could easily have scored one or two.

Too much possession in our own third of the pitch followed by aimless hoofs.

Pretty much this. I thought Rodney looked better than a five though + Dave and Obika weren't really on long enough to warrant a mark imo.

Fook knows what game i was watching i thought March was far and away our best player today , we have a little diamond in the rough emerging i reckon

Snap.

March was superb today. The best I have seen him. Absolutely ran them ragged in the 1st half.
