How many paid up Labour party members are there right now? How many trade union members could buy 'affiliate member' voting rights for £3?
Yes he should - that council house should be available to someone that NEEDS it. He doesn't and so should pay for his own accommodation at the market rate. That's not abandoning his roots - that supporting people in need.

I'm a member of the RMT and I have no problems with what he earns, where he holidays and the fact he lives in a council house. The idea of social housing originally was to promote a vision where "the working man, the doctor and the clergyman will live in close proximity to each other".

Because there are people on the council housing list that need housing and earn next to nothing. Council houses are for those that can't afford private housing - he can.

What a pity theres not more council housing available then. Why is that?
Is it only for those that cant afford private housing? Could it also be for those that dont want private housing?

Should people who earn over a certain amount have to educate their children privately and pay for private medical cover ? It would cut down class sizes and cut waiting lists surely.
Good grief ..... the political party you do anything to defend suggests a tax rise to assist the vulnerable in society and you support it. Yet you'd rather those who aren't vulnerable get the housing designed to support that very group. The housing list is huge and it is not helped by the selling of council houses ( you know, by that person you hate and blame many of todays ills on ) and people like Crowe holding onto housing they don't need. Would I rather see a family living on the breadline living in a council house or someone like Crowe earning over 4.5 times the national average salary ? The family on the breadline EVERY time would win in my eyes. Of course there are people that support pricks like Crowe who would rather he had the house and the family on the breadline lived in a B&B.
Hmmm .... partly because some that can easily afford private housing are too lazy and corrupt to pay for their own private housing ?

No. You are right. It was a crazy notion... after all, why would he, when he is on £150k + perks and pension, holidays in Rio, all the champagne he can swill etc... etc... ?
But he would have the power to influence many potential Labour affiliate voters who obviously think he is someone to be listened to because they keep him on as their leader... no?

So you're suggesting that anyone, regardless of income, should be entitled to council housing ? Richard Branson, David Cameron, Alan Sugar, David Beckham ?
