Albion head to Vicarage Road this weekend for a Sunday afternoon kick-off and recent history points to a tight affair in Hertfordshire. The last eight games at the home of the Hornets has produced 10 goals with six of the meetings finishing in a 1-0 scoreline, the most recent back in 2012 when Craig Mackail-Smith’s penalty decided the contest.

A year earlier Troy Deeney reversed the result when his 77th minute goal gave the hosts victory, but earlier in 2011 Ashley Barnes’s first-half strike provided the Seagulls with an FA Cup shock when there was a division between the two sides.
There were back-to-back 1-1 draws in the Championship clashes in 2004 and 2005 while Watford prevailed in a 1-0 victory in 2002 in the clubs’ first meeting in ten years.
The biggest winning margin in this fixture belongs to the Hornets, who put five past the Seagulls in March 1931 but Albion garnered some revenge in September of that year, winning 4-0, the club’s biggest win to date at Vicarage Road.
Albion v Doncaster at the Amex on February 8th, 3pm kick off. Tickets available online, at the Amex Ticket Office or via the telephone on 08443271901.
