Winds of 150 mph constitute a little higher definition than " Gale ", surprised they missed that.

Why have all these winter storms suddenly got names, like storm Brigid? Is that to add a little extra drama to the occasion?

They can start off as Hurricanes in the Caribbean and South East coat of the US where they are named. We get whats left as they drift across the Atlantic. Storms that never gain Hurricane status are thus just unnamed storms.

Does the Express's weather coverage give you any kind of insight as to their aims as a newspaper?

I can't understand why anyone would want to read a paper that shamlessly tries to frighten it's own readers like the Express does. Are we a nation of masochists?

They've started naming all of them - it's mental.

That's ridiculous. Where will it end ? "Today we are looking at Squall Frank leading up to Gale Esther and followed by Onshore Breeze Timothy....."

It is getting pretty rough here in Devon, but I'm still waiting to hear the sound of hooves and the trumpets of doom as the four horsemen come galloping past my door! :p

Says a lot when most of us guessed the paper. Still waiting for the winter of snow we were promised, and the Mexican Killer Bees from the Daily Mail.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall at an Daily Express editorial meeting.

There must a lot of pissed off reporters who've assembled newsworthy copy only to have their story bumped off the front page AGAIN for another spurious weather story. It's been going on for almost 3 months solid now, you could almost make a case for constructive dismissal.

Forget the Transfer Deadline debacle, the real fun is to be had on Worthing Weather. We only need just over 22mm of rain today to make 200mm for the month ! Will Worthing do it ? bring on the downpour !

That's about an Inch of rain... it's possible tonight.

So we've got 11pm for transfer chat, then a tense hour watching the rain guage fill up to see if we can reach 200mm.. Popcorn and a bottle of wine at the ready!
