This is the INCREASE in the deal, not the total. But rather than cut prices, they choose to waste the cash paying the likes of Rooney £300k a week, more than the average wage for a whole decade. Yet still the grounds are full and nothing will change until they are not.

This is a very positive move by Derby and they are to be applauded

Do you know what? I hope they go up. Thats brilliant. Plus they seem to me to be doing things the right way unlike say QPR or Forest or Lesta etc etc

Whilst this sort of initiative should (possibly) be applauded, wouldn't it be great if fans finances were not hit so heavily in the first place?

We get £100 worth of travel free a season, don't we?

The only problem I can see would be when they come back down. How many season ticket holders would not renew if it meant a doubling in ticket prices for matches the division below? And if they didn't increase prices after relegation then they might struggle financially in the Championship (well, maybe not that much as they will have parachute payments also).

Great idea. (helps to get fans to renew at full price even without promotion and may get more to sign up for next season if they don't go up in case this deal is repeated)

However, how many Derby fans are actually going to be affected by this? - how many current ST holders do they actually have for this season as it's renewals and not new ST sales.

I like Derby, as a football club and as a town/city.

Ten of us went there last week and stayed over on the Saturday, and as a group we were welcomed everywhere by everyone.

Everyone that I spoke to in the pubs after, and deep into the Saturday night, were genuinely interested on our thoughts of the game or what were our chances of promotion etc

Perfect stuff.

Good idea though coming down after a miserable one season in the prem and seeing your ST price go UP ( albeit back to the undiscounted price) is going to hurt more than the discount felt good!

I'm sure it's a cash flow thing for them (mOney in to buy in the closed season), so it would never work for us because we all pay on interest free credit!
