Minder is pure class.....better writing and acting than most crap on nowadays.

We'll soon find out just how good it is, when pitted against other classic UK comedies!

USWC 2014 coming soon...

Minder is pure class.....better writing and acting than most crap on nowadays.

Used to love the early Minder, when Dennis Waterman was in it as Terry.

What also made it good was the constant frustration of uptight Sergeant Chisholm (and his sidekick Jones) who always narrowly failed to nick Arfur.

Some great dialogue in Minder to:

Arthur: 'Put it on my Tab.'
Dave: 'Tssk, that tab's longer than Gone With the Wind'.
-------------
Arthur: 'Hello, Mr Chisholm; do you know anything about garden rockeries?'
Terry: No, but he knows a thing or two about planting though, don't yer, Mr Chisholm.'
------------
Sergeant Chisholm: 'What are you selling now, Daley, second-hand poppadoms?'
------------
Chisholm: 'You'd do anything for a pound or a penny. For a £20 note, you'd mortgage your soul.'
Arthur: 'Oh, that's an offensive remark, Mr Chisholm.'
Chisholm: 'I know. I've been saving it up.'

Proud to say that I've got the Box set(s) of Minder - watching any episode always cheers me up.

If he has the agile, quick-thinking and slippery brain of his namesake, bring it on.

Do we get Dennis Waterman as well. he could do us a new theme tune......... or maybe not.

I too thought I would be sad opening this thread, but luckily I'm laughing my head off with all these old Minder quotes. Arthur Daley is one of THE best TV characters. He's up there with Norman Stanley Fletcher for me.
