Played at Waterhall yesterday and it ended up like a bog, but festival goers seem to like that...

I don't see how Waterhall is a good place for a festival, alright it's just off the motorway but there is poor access roads and poor transport in and out of the city to that area.

We would not have a home friendly that early in pre-season anyway so that's not an issue.

Interesting though, particularly after the amount of work done to discount this as a site for major events at the second public enquiry.

"Councillor Phelim McCafferty said: “It’s a brilliant event for young people and it should be celebrated.” "

That is an outstanding name to slip into the end of an article

Wonder why its no longer at Stanmer Park.

Putting 2 and 2 together and getting 1443 here, but the location of this years Radio 1's Big Weekend gets announced this Thursday and the most likely location Brighton could have for that is indeed Stanmer Park and since it takes place in May, it would probably make the park unsuitable for another festival that year.

Which is all very well if you don't have kids and don't want a decent night's sleep. The whole Westdene/Withdean area is impacted by the noise that this will generate overnight and the drugged and drunken idiots that will roam the neighbourhood in the small hours - as has been the case when these festivals, legal or not, have been on the local Downs.
