How would YOU price Albion v Hull?

Being a dullard I would price it the same as a normal Championship game. It's massive game and the club need to cash in. I'm sure that it will be a sell out.

In the old days of the Goldstone we never discounted ticket prices for this sort of game so why start now.

I know Hull are in the Premier League, but I think the term 'Premier League opposition' is slightly misleading in this case. It's true, but it doesn't tell the whole story.

It's sort of like the 'shock' of Palace losing to Wigan, just because CP happen to be in the league above this season.

I think season ticket holders should be able to buy ALL cup tickets for a maximum of their normal per match costs. For this one, I'd make it £20 ends and £25 sides.

The FA Cup was considered more important that the league in those days, as was the League Cup.

The pie idea won't work as they never have any available at half time. At least, every time I've wanted one there's been none available - in East Lower. Other areas may be more fortunate.


I have gone for £20/£15, as it's the level that would make the difference for me. I don't think I'd be prepared to pay £25 for my usual seat just to see Hull. I'm not yet as excited about the cup this year as I usually get if we get to the 5th round, for some reason - probably to do with the draw we got!

I've seen this said before. Surely it is only misleading to people who don't actually follow football. Those that do have a good idea of the principles of promotion and relegation and the league that most teams are playing in.

It certainly was in the 50s. Read Jimmy Greaves autobiography and he made it quite clear that the cup was far more important. However, not sure the league cup was ever considered more important than the league and certainly by the 70s the league was more important.

It's a misleading justification for charging more than necessary, is the point I'm making. But yeah you're right - any half-sentient human knows full well exactly how box office Hull City are.

Having said all this - I'm really impressed that the club did what they did for Reading, and suspect they've got their fingers on the pulse enough to pick the right price point for this one. So I'm not overly concerned.

Brighton & Hove Albion are pleased to announce more great value family ticket prices for the FA Cup fifth round tie with Hull City at American Express Community Stadium on the weekend of the 15/16th February.




The date and time of the game is yet to be finalised, but the club has confirmed prices for the clash with the Tigers and will announce match details very soon.




Head coach Oscar Garcia is delighted that Albion have been drawn at home, and told seagulls.co.uk, "I am happy because our fans can come and see the game and enjoy a tie against Premier League opponents.



"The support at the Amex is key, and being at home in the fifth round is a bonus. The home support could be an important factor."



Prices for the fifth-round tie start from £15 for adults, £10 for over-65s and £5 for under-16s and once again, in order to keep prices as affordable as possible, these DO NOT include the travel levy.

The Seagulls will be seeking to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 1986, when Chris Cattlin's side reached the sixth round, and tickets for the clash will go on sale from Wednesday 29th January, initially to season-ticket holders.




Chief executive Paul Barber said, "After the success of the pricing strategy for the third round we have opted for a similar approach for the fifth round tie with Hull City.




"Again we want to encourage as many fans from both clubs - particularly families and our younger fans - to come and see the match and hopefully cheer Oscar and the team through to the quarter-final!"




As with the third-round tie with Reading, in order to keep ticket prices low, travel is NOT included within the ticket price, travel to and from the stadium.




PRICES




West and East Stands

Adults: £20

Over-65s: £10

Under-16s: £5



North and South Stands

Adults: £15

Over-65s: £10

Under-16s: £5




Full matchday bus and train services will operate on the day but bus and train tickets must be purchased prior to travel.




Supporters wishing to use the matchday park-and-ride services are advised to pre-bookbefore midday on Wednesday 12 February, bookings may be made online, over the phone or in person at the Ticket Office.




After midday on Wednesday 12 February park-and-ride will be available to book in person, and supporters will also be able to pay on the day - further details will follow in due course.




Mill Road park-and-ride will initially be available. Mithras House and Brighton Racecourse will be opened subject to demand.




Car parking is also available to book in advance at Sussex University with Bridge Car Park available as pay on the day.




Pre-booked parking costs £10, on the day parking increases to £15. Supporters wishing to pre-book should do so before midday on Wednesday 12th February, online, over the phone or in person at the Ticket Office.




1901 CLUB MEMBERS

1901 Club members are reminded all first-team cup tickets are included in their package and are automatically loaded to their stadium access card.




PLATINUM/GOLD MEMBERS

Supporters on the gold/platinum scheme will automatically be debited with the cost of the ticket and the ticket will be loaded to their stadium access card (there will be no booking fee applied). If your card has expired or changed since registering for the Platinum or Gold scheme please contact the ticket office before 5pm Friday 31st January.




SILVER MEMBERS (SEASON TICKET HOLDERS) AND HALF-SEASON TICKET HOLDERS

Season-ticket and half-season-ticket holders have until 9am on Monday 3rd January to guarantee their seat and tickets will be allocated to their smartcard unless opting to sit in a seat that differs to their season ticket, in which case they will be allocated a paper ticket or need to print at home.

Ummmmm.

I think the Albion are learning and boy what a sharp curve it was, but they are seemingly listening to the fans. This has made it affordable for myself and two kids to go. Well done Albion!
