I used to be a collector in the early 80s and remember walking around Beaconsfield Villas and Ditchling Rise in the dark on a Thursday night with my parka pockets full of change wondering if someone was going to mug me. Used to make about £12 a week in commission which was a fair return in those days and went toward putting a deposit down to buy a house.

Was 30p a line in those days. It's all online now and I'd rather bet via online bookmakers. Pools companies don't seem to try to get us to bet with them any more.
