Bert Williams who played for Wolves and England was one of the goal keepers from the era before giving the a dirty look earned them a free kick. Along with keepers like Ted Ditcburn, Sam Bartram, Jack Kelsey and Bert Trautman who survived the possibility of being bundled into the net while clutching the ball by the massive centre forward and conceding a goal.

Goalkeepers do get too much protection nowadays.

I showed a friend a clip of that Storer goal and it would never stand now.

Never saw him play, but appreciate these old boys who played for the love of the game and generally stuck to their local club(s).
