So that gives him the right to go down after no contact ? Its doing things like this which makes referees not believe him.
Well as the BBC have slowed down and looked at the incident from many angles, over a longer period of time, and stated there was contact......then i would assume they have a clearer picture than you...presumably.

Just replying to those that have said there was no contact, when according to slowed down footage, looked at and dissected, there was contact. Seems like the contact without getting the ball but the player, was the reason the penalty was awarded.
Let's face it, if it was another player, a mild debate would probably sufficed.

Stay on his feet and not cheat? This is exactly the problem with football today, people actually justify diving because the keeper/defender gave them a chance to.
The goalkeeper rushed out and dived across the front of Him and never made contact with the ball. All he had to do was go down and get the pen. Its funny we are debating a penalty where a goalkeeper has clearly got no where near the ball but has clipped the player. Football has become a game where players all over the pitch play for free kicks and we say nothing. How many times do players get in front of another and wait for the slightest touch on their back and go down? How many players get past another and when they get the slightest touch on the arm or shoulder go down like they have been shot. Anyone jumps up against the goalkeeper and the goalkeeper automatically gets a free kick. We knock one player for getting a soft penalty, when players all over the pitch are holding, grabbing or doing something else to get the slightest advantage. The game has changed and players have to adapt, do not give the ref a chance to give it.

Well said, That's the problem, if the team you support gets the pen, nobody complains. Barnes got a soft penalty a few weeks ago. People love to hate certain players and when they get a decision in their favour, everyone thinks its time we did away with diving.

So those who say he dived, how could he of stayed on his feet ?
The speed he was going and the way the keeper came diving at him, I doubt anybody would of stayed upright.
