Marcos Painter's appearances for Pompey this season:-

Sep 21 90 mins v Fleetwood at home (L 0-1)
Sep 28 First 70 mins v York City away (L 2-4) Yellow card
Oct 5 90 mins v Rochdale at home (W 3-0) Yellow card
Oct 8 First 17 mins v Oxford away (W 2-1)
Nov 9 Unused substitute v Stevenage away (L 1-2)
Nov 12 Unused substitute v Newport County away (L 0-3)
Nov 16 Unused substitute v AFC Wimbledon away (L 0-4)

Nov 26 Unused substitute v Southend home (L 1-2)
Nov 30 Unused substitute v Hartlepool away (D 0-0)

Looking at that record Pompey need to stick him back in the starting line up. 10 points won and 6 goals conceded when he played compared to 2 points won and 15 goals conceded when he hasn't played.

Neither Navarro, nor Grant Hall are doing much at Swindon according to my mate who is a STFC ST holder. Navarro is considered to be a complete waste of space and cash drain.

Chris McPhee seems to be an integral part of the Salisbury City outfit.

Yaser Kasim is doing well at Swindon though and his former DS team mate Anton Rogers will be playing against his dad's side for Oldham in the cup after xmasEx DS keeper Mitch Walker is doing well at Dover and I think played for the England semi-pro side recently.

Sorry some retarded spelling there. I meant Kasim. Young lad who went out on loan to Luton.

Sparrow, Dicker and Navarro all seem to struggle to get game time despite playing in the lower leagues. It shows how well Gus did to finish in the top half in our first season back in the Championship when all 3 were regulars for us.
Navarro was injured for most of the promotion season, que Bridcutt's arrival.

Can you confirm any other ex-players unused substitute appearances for their respective clubs because I find this fascinating?

a couple from the distant past.... Jake Wright (bought from Crawley as a full back despite always having played central defence) still a regular starter at Oxford (as a centre back).
Matt Richards still going strong at Cheltenham.

Graeme "laundry" Smith -possibly our worst ever goalkeper (didnt so much keep goals as gave them away) is surprisingly still playing for Scottish League One side Brechin.

Albion tickled pink

Albion manager Mark McGhee vowed today that new goalkeeping hero David Yelldell will never be in the pink again.

Yelldell was ridiculed by Leeds fans after referee Mike Thorpe ordered him to swap his yellow shirt for pink for the second half of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

Injured No.1 Michel Kuipers has worn different coloured jerseys all season but McGhee reckons pink is a shade too far.

"I knew nothing about it until we were in the dressing room," he said. "I think it's ridiculous that of all the colours under the rainbow we choose pink.

"The boy got a lot of stick but he handled it very well. As far as I am concerned the pink shirt won't be coming out again.

"The referee decided his black shirt made him look like one of us (all navy). He changed to yellow and so insisted we changed the goalie's shirt. The only one we had was pink."
