Only just spotted that Ginger Wildheart is doing a gig at The Albert on Tuesday night. Sadly it is already sold out.

Bellrays playing there in a couple of weeks as well but can't go to that as I am working away.

I've just bought a ticket for Beth Nielsen Chapman at The Cadogan Hall, in London. I'm more interested in Robert Vincent, who is supporting. The few tracks I've heard by him sound really promising.

Not much comment on Morrissey- it did seem fairly unremarkable.

Other views?

He lost the audience pretty early on and from that there was no return. The latest album is very average and seemed to take up about a third of the set. Shame as he has some decent material to play- no one was ever going to expect any Smiths expect How Soon Is Now which always gets an airing, but he has produced several good albums. Tormentors, Quarry and Arsenal in particular.

As an aside I’ve befriended a tour manager and he is very familiar with The Great Escape and, from an artist point of view, he doesn’t rate it. He says it’s a total ball-ache to play at. He said it not managed well and a lot of the staff are volunteers who are well meaning but not very experienced and are run-into-the-ground by their hectic schedules.....day 3 and your working with zombies.
