Liam Bridcutt has saluted the positive attitude of Albion’s long-term injury victims after making his comeback.
The midfielder went on as a 63rd minute substitute during the 3-0 win over Blackburn yesterday.
He had been out of action for three months following hernia surgery.
Bridcutt said: “You’ve just got to look at the likes of Craig Mackail-Smith and Will Hoskins, who have had major injuries.
“Every day you see them coming in smiling and getting on with things.
“That helped me massively. What I have been through is nothing compared to what they have had so I take my hat off to the boys."
Bridcutt thought Albion beat strong opponents as they saw off Blackburn.
He said: “We came up against a good side.
“I thought in spells of the game we looked quite good and really comfortable.
“Then at other times they were getting control of it.
“But it’s a Championship game and we came out on top.”
