Albion’s winless run stretched to four games with a dour goalless draw away to struggling Yeovil.
The hosts had failed to pick up a point at home this season before this game but Albion could not have no complaints with the result.
With Kazenga LuaLua ruled out by a knee injury, the Seagulls made three changes with Craig Conway, Bruno and Rohan Ince returning while new loan signing Leroy Lita was on the bench.
Ashley Barnes had Albion’s best chance of a rather dull first half, feeding Conway and then meeting the winger’s cross from the left with a goalbound header which Wayne Hennessey did well to hold.
Yeovil looked pretty toothless going forward, although Tomasz Kuszczak was called upon to make a couple of decent saves, first getting down well to keep out Fraser Fyvie’s free-kick on 13 minutes and later beating away a shot from Sam Hoskins.
Oscar Garcia, clearly not happy with the first 45 minutes, made a change at half-time with David Lopez coming on for Ince, one of five players booked in the first half.
Lita was introduced for Barnes just before the hour-mark and was soon in the action with a turn and shot from Conway’s low cross which was blocked by Shane Duffy.
It was not until the closing stages that Albion began to threaten. On 82 minutes, Andrew Crofts threaded a pass through for Will Buckley who fired wide on the near post.
Yeovil responded with a shot from Hoskins which Kuszczak held, then Lita fired first time across the face of goal but well wide.
There was an even better chance for Lita on 85 minutes following a great run by Buckley but he fired wastefully over the bar from seven yards.
Then at the other end Duffy glanced a header wide from a free-kick.
Deep into stoppage time Buckley fired past Hennessey’s left-hand post but this was a hugely disappointing afternoon for Albion against a poor side.
