If you're rubbishing it due to the lack of Arkwright, then fair enough. If you dislike Open All Hours in general, then we need to have a conversation.

The former.

OAH without Ronnie Barker would be like Fools and Horses without David Jason...it just won't be right.

Some things are best left where they were and remembered as the brilliance they were.

Case in point: the recent remake of Yes, Prime Minister. Utter, utter excrement by comparison to the legendary original.

Last of the Summer Wine is utter toilet. How many times can an old man roll down a hill like a prat? Boring programme, although I like Wallace and Barraclough from Porridge.
Hey I didn't say it was any good, I just said it'll get an audience.

It certainly won't be scheduled against Downton, Corrie, Bake Off, Antiques Roadshow etc.

Thankfully, we agree there! Although Granville as an old man will be interesting.

The Tractate Middoth (Ghost story)
M R James : Ghost Writer (Documentary)

That's already the highlight. The Tractate Middoth is a cracking story and a documentary on James sounds like just the complement to it

I'm glad they're doing a special of Hebbern. I really liked the series of that. Apart from that there is nothing I'm particularly happy about. NRA Browns boys used to be funny but they had just ran out of ideas for the last series. Hopefully this will be a big improvement on last years.

I'm hoping they chose to show all the only fools and horses Christmas specials again in the run up to Christmas.

Every Christmas its as if the tv companies are trying to get the country to return to old fashioned values in which people would talk, drink, play games and generally have fun with the family.
I just do not get why people sit in silence around a tv watching the same crap they watch all year like eastenders or dreadful remakes of old programmes.
If that is your thing there are so many ways to record or catch up these days that you will not miss it.
Our TV has stayed off for the past 3 years and our christmas has improved considerably.

Glad i'm in Spain for a few days this crimbo. Tripe on tv but at least i won't be able to understand it. I'll carefully set my tivo to record whichever films are on for those days, but all that list can go screw its mundane self.

Birds of a feather? What an old crock of shit.

I'd rather put a Christmas tree up my bottom and the pine needles down the eye of my tool than watch that crap.

I like Citizen Kane and Mrs Brown's Boys, harmless fun, switch your brain off and have a giggle.
Birds of a Feather is long overdue a few specials, early stuff was very funny when it was on originally.
Slightly worried about Open all Hours, have a feeling David Jason should stick to drama these days if 'The Royal Bodyguard' is a measure, terrible error all round.
Xmas is a special time I listen to terrible jingly music and watch films and TV specials from years ago for a month which starts as soon as the twinkly lights get switched on and I'm not afraid to admit it.
