UK's new name if Scotland breakaway?

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
It can't be a united kingdom because England and Scotland are the two united kingdoms. Wales is a principality and Northern Ireland is just strange.

It's currnetly called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

So if Scotland go all foreign on us, it could be called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

The two KINGDOMS of Scotland and England were united well before the two NATIONS were. Separation of the state of Scotland wouldn't mean the collapse of the United Kingdom. HM the Q would still be Queen of Scotland.

But the question remains:- What would the nation of England, Wales and Northern Ireland call itself? South Britain? The United States of England, Wales and Northern Ireland?

The greatest boost to the hopes of the SNP will be if the English - and it is mainly the English - look as though they really will vote to bring the UK out of the European Union during the next Parliament. The Scots are more favourably disposed towards the EU and nothing will enhance the SNP campaign more than the fear that, a couple of years down the line, the views of UKIP and its English friends will prevail.

No its not. The Name of the country we live in is The Unted kindgom of GREAT BRITAIN and NORTHEN IRELAND. There are two kingdoms and one principality in Great Britian. God know what Northen Ireland is though, I agree with you their. The Dominion of..? Like what Cannada and Aussialand used to be?

I guess we would be called the United Kingdom of England, Wales and Northen Ireland. Assuming wales become recognised as inderpendent of the state of England.
