Albion's average home crowd was more than 26,000 this season
Albion have beaten five Premier League clubs when it comes to attendances.
They averaged 26,236 in the Championship in 2012-13, the best in the division.
That figure also put them ahead of top-flight clubs Fulham, West Brom, Reading, Swansea and Wigan and within 700 of both Norwich and Stoke.
Sheffield Wednesday were the second-best supported Championship side with an average gate of 24,078. Derby, Nottingham Forest and Cardiff completed the top five.
The biggest attendance in the Championship was 33,010 who saw Derby play Nottingham Forest at Pride Park in January and the lowest was the 5,435 who watched Peterborough lose at home to Bristol City in September.
Albion had their biggest gate for the late-season win over Wolves when 30,003 flocked to The Amex Their smallest league turnout of 23,703 for a midweek game against Peterborough was still better than the biggest crowd at 12 Championship clubs, including arch rivals Crystal Palace.
