The club has offered development contracts to Rob Hunt, Bradley Barry and Glenn Rea after the three completed their two scholarship years with the club.
Full-backs Hunt and Barry and centre-back Rea have taken on prominent roles within the club’s youth team throughout the past two seasons and have also made the step up to Luke Williams’ development squad. Their performances have been rewarded with their first professional contract with the Seagulls.
Albion head of football operations David Burke told seagulls.co.uk, “Glenn, Rob and Bradley have demonstrated to the coaching staff that not only do they have the ability to become professional footballers but that they also have the mental and physical capabilities.
“More importantly they consistently work hard to improve themselves both technically and tactically. These characteristics are crucial if they are to prove themselves in the development squad and take on their next challenge of making the first-team squad. They thoroughly deserve this development contract."
Elsewhere George Cousins, Ryan Cooper, Elliot Levy, Ben Gray, Jacob Peake and Jack Shonk have all been informed that they will not be offered a development contract with the club, and have been released.
Burke added, "It is always disappointing to find out that you will not be getting a contract. On behalf of the club I would like to thank them for all their efforts and sincerely hope that they are successful in gaining a contract elsewhere."
