There is no way I would miss the home leg of the play-off's for a friends childs christening. TBH I would consider missing my own childs christening for the game.
Tell them you have become atheist for 24 hours and to attend would be hypocritical.
As much as it has crossed my mind I can't bail, the parents are 2 of my closest friends, they've tried for years to have a child, she had the perfect pregnancy and then it started going wrong, baby was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis very early after birth, spent her first 4 months either in the Trevor Mann unit having operations on her bowels or in the Alex. It has been very touch and go as to whether she would make it but she is now home. And she's a great little girl, she's not mine but I love her to bits.
If I don't go to the christening, well, it makes me a **** of the highest order. Much more to life than football, saying that, as long as we get Palace or Bolton there isn't an issue!!!!!!
