Interesting article here about how her book contradicts what she had previously written in her diary and in letters to her lawyers:

BBC News - Amanda Knox and prison life

Changing her story again - or just not telling the truth previously in case it was read by prison staff?

I think some of it may not be contradictory such as her being suicidal and others saying she seemed to have a sunny disposition. That's not uncommon in people in despair. Im quite surprised by the BBC doing this. Very dangerous to speculate on differences what was written down by someone, probably not totally stable emotionally at the time, if she is indeed innocent, and what the book says later. Though understandably she may have to justify it in the retrial if she goes.

or, she needs things to be a bit more salacious to sell books. bit cynical maybe, but she's the one generating the story here. given her reputation, i dont believe she would be traumatised by the sex and debauchery of prison anyway.

I try not to draw conclusions based on "reputations" built up by media. Agree that the reason may be to make it more salacious to sell the book.

iirc it was hardly a media invention, she had the nick name "foxy knoxy" before these events.

ergo, she won't be traumatised by the sex and debauchery of prisons?

How much detail does her book go into about her pre-murder sex games and prison sex and debauchery? Erm, a friend of mine is thinking of getting the book and wants to know if its worthwhile or not.

depends if you want to subsidise someone who has tried to frame an innocent man for murder, and is keeping the truth of the murder of a young British girl from her grieving family, or not. Theres plenty of porn out there that even by porn's standards, is far less morally reprehensible. I would keep your money in your wallet mate.

How do you know she is guilty ? If I am crass so is every juror or anyone who weighs up all the evidence and makes a judgement so every judgement is then in itself bold and crass :ffsparr: She was tried in Italy and acquitted by an Italian judge and jury. From what I have seen I am utterly convinced she is innocent and that is my opinion, feel free to have a different opinion.

She has actually been found guilty TWICE by jury!

Following the first trial she appealed the conviction which was initially allowed but later overturned by Italy's supreme court and a retrial ordered.

In the retrial, heard in her absence she has once again been found guilty by a jury.

As an obvious supporter of the jury system I would have thought you'd be calling for her to be extradited and for justice to be served!

Crikey when does the bounce system lose its validity ? A conversation normally follows on quite shortly, not a year later.

that kinda ignores she was acquitted in the appeal. now it may be a language thing and its not teh same in Italy, but here thats the end of it. no retrial ( i think they can declare a mis-trail to go again?). it means the second jury somehow didnt have doubts that the appeal raised, which were sufficient for the appeal to consider the original conviction unsound. whatever, it seems very complicated and a large dash of politics involved, and different to how its done here. afaik, extradictions apply were the offence is recognised in both countries, so the fact she has been exposed to "double jeopardy" the US recognise as unjust (as we do), extradiction wouldnt seem possible.

Poor old foxy, what a sideshow. Her Mum, Opportunity, is entertainment too.

You see, now you've gone and made me all confused.

On the one hand: that's a tasteless and unnecessary quip, unworthy of a civilised man. You should be ashamed of yourself.

On the other hand: hahahahahaha....breathe.....hahahahahaha.

See?
