Gus Poyet has been shortlisted for the Championship Manager of the Month award for January after the Uruguayan steered the Seagulls to the verge of the play-offs.
Albion won two and drew two of their four league games during January, earning important points on the road at Ipswich Town, Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers, while scoring eight goals and conceding four.
Poyet’s men also knocked Premier League Newcastle United out of the FA Cup thanks to a 2-0 win at the Amex and were narrowly edged out by Arsenal in the fourth round towards the end of the month.
Also shortlisted for the award is Burnley’s Sean Dyche and Nigel Pearson of Leicester City.
The winner will be announced on Friday 15th February, with the final decision being made by two separate Football League judging panels.
