Most scared you've ever been

Something happened earlier that got me thinking about the night I stood in a hospital watching my Daughter fight for her life, I asked the specialist if this new treatment they were trying didn't work what was next and he looked me in the eyes and said "Nothing, there is nothing left we can try"

The feeling of utter helplesness, being unable to fight it for her was the most scared I have ever been.

Yours?

fucks sake mate, I've been a few plights in my life being an ex marine.

I can imagine being in fear of your child's life would be far, far worse.
when was this?

if it was recent / current..them my heart goes out to you.

as a father and grand father, I can think of little worse than that

Nothing that compares to that, and I hope she is ok now.

Sorry, should have said she made a complete recovery and is now the mother of a beautiful 2 year old.

Was about 5 years ago now.

Different tack to the above... I was searching in a graveyard at night for a man who witnesss had seen being dragged unconscious into. It was pitch black, we couldn't find anyone, there were loads if weeping willows and similar everywhere. We could hear a noise like a baby crying - it was so eery! My colleague wanted to go and I literally had to drag him around. We located the source and it was 2 cats squatting up to each other on a large tomb. I was so glad that we hadn't found an abandoned baby, but the preceding minutes were the scariest of my life.

The unconscious male turned out to be a pissed male from one of Otley's many pubs being carried home by his mates. We found them a few minutes later stumbling across the Waitrose car park singing rugby songs!

Thursday 26th May 2005, about 7pm.

I was quite happily watching TV when I was suddenly hit by severe chest pain and couldn't breathe properly at all.

Luckily my Dad was at home to call an ambulance, but I have never felt so scared and clueless about what was happening to me.
