Team for hull without marmite

We need to win.

We need two up front, CMS and Ulloa.....1 up front is a non starter in my opinion.

We need an out and out winger. Buckley

We need the creativity of Vicente and Orlandi / Lopez to go with Bridcutt. Do not play 2 holding midfielders at home. Go for it, from the off and dont sit back if we get a goal. We have the players to terrorise the Hull back 4.

Would also like to see Bruno back in the side.

But he will go with...
Hammond and Bridcutt, Vicente will be on the bench and probably not get on. CMS will be on the bench and he play 1 up front alone. his first focus will be not to lose which is fine when in the play off position not when you are 7 points out of it.

and CMS will probably come on for Ulloa, not play with him.

.................... You are so sensible & I concur with what you say completely.

Gus please listen to Chucky. He knows a thing or two about football & is pretty good at the Score Predictor as well !

Put your usual defensive team out (which I think you will & I cannot see a win - sorry predicted 1-2 on the Predictor.

Prove us wrong & ATTACK from the Off.

BHA v Hull - Score Predictor

What does everyone else think?

Honestly I am shocked that so many seemingly what to squeeze CMS into the team at the expense of any team shape (Bridcutt the sole centre midfielder, what has the poor bloke done to deserve that). What has CMS done to show that we should change the way we play to get him into the team? We have 2 attacking full backs, 1 holding midfieder, 1 (in theory) box to box player and 3 players behind the front line.

completely agree with you

CMS Ulloa

Maybe Vicente for Orlandi/LuaLua

Lets just go for it!

agreed but then why leave possibly the best and most creative midfielder out. If we played our strongest side week in, Vicente would start. He is fit, he should start.

Koosh,Bruno,Upson,El abd,Bridge, Bridcutt, Vicente, Orlandi, Hoskins,Ulloa, Buckley, They are the best footballers we have in the squad available if all fit ,play 442 at home,Lua Lua good impact sub .Only gamble is Hoskins who needs a run of games ,holds the ball up better then CMS and is good finisher ,Vicente should be able to complete most of game, Teams have won titles playing 442 ,but i think he will play two defensive midfielders hope i am wrong .

Just think that 6 points is a must from the next two home games, Gus has stated he will take risks, so hopefully ulloa and CMS upfront from the off. If Buckley is fit he should start too.lets see if Vicente can produce the form we all know he is capable of, from the start not just the last 15 minutes.

I think that it will be

Kuszczak

Bruno (if fit) El Abd Upson Bridge

Bridcutt

Lopez Hammond Orlandi

CMS Ulloa.

Subs

Ankergren
Calderon
Dicker
Vicente
Lua Lua
Buckley
Hoskins

I think that Lopez or Orlandi will be pushed forward when attacking to make a 3 man attack.

I think this is what Gus will go with as well. Possibly with Vicente starting instead of Orlandi. A return to the diamond formation (with Orlandi/Vicente at the top of it) that he used in League One in a bit. It heavily relied on Bennett performing, so hopefully Orlandi or Vicente can step-up.

Buckley or Lua Lua to come in if we need an injection of pace or need to change the dynamic of the match.

Albion Team (possible):

4-4-2 (Capello-style)
Kuszczak
Bruno Hammond Upson Bridge
Buckley Lopez Bridcutt Orlandi
Ulloa Mackail-Smith

Subs: Ankergen (G), El Abd (D), Vicente (AM), Lualua (W), Dicker (M), Calderón (D), Hoskins (S).

Not selected Brezovan (G), Dunk (D), Crofts (M), Painter (LB)

Missing, Greer, Barnes. (24 first teamers)

Youngsters: Maybe one to be included on the bench ?

The Capello-style 4-4-2 has the left sided midfielder Orlandi playing in a roaming Gerrard role as the creative midfielder. This would be best suited to Vicente.

I think 4-4-2 is the best way to counter 5-3-1-1

The controversial bit is putting Hammond in the back four.

Bridcutt not even making the bench would raise a few eyebrows.

There's a surprising amount of 4-4-2 in this thread.

Gus will never play that against 3-5-2 of Hull, we'll surrender possession way too much.

That said, his comments about 'going for broke' tells me there is a glimmer of him starting with CMS and Ulloa today. But I still doubt it.
