Bridge to sign a 3 year contract???

I imagine Man City would be happy to terminate his contract to save on 6 months of wages.

If he can come to some kind of agreement with City for the termination than brilliant! But if you're Bridge, surely you stay on the 90k a week on loan at Brighton, THEN in the summer sign a contract with Brighton. You wouldn't surely take the pay cut now when you're already at Brighton! That's all the thinking behind my comment.

Good point. I imagine what would happen is that he'd agree some sort of termination fee with City that works well for both sides - City don't have to pay his whole wage for another 6 months, while he gets a reduced lump sum on top of his Brighton contract.

I hope not. He'll be 33 by the start of next season.

So what, as long as he keeps himself in shape. Stays away from the fags, booze, casino's and pop stars he will be fine. If he wants three years, I reckon he has got that in him, Tanno still looked half decent and he must be knocking on 40.

How can he sign a contract with us when he's still got 6 months left with City?

Can sign a pre-contract 6 months before it expires which would be around this time, he'd still do a job in three years time, a cut above the rest at the moment. I'm glad he likes it down here, seems like a lovely chap.

Bit worried teams in the premier league like Southampton would be interested or that he wants to move to the states.

Don't want to get people hopes up but this bull:shit: :)

I'm genuinely interested to know what makes you think that? The source I have got it from is about as reliable as you can get, I'm very hopeful it's true, and certainly doesn't sound ridiculous. As I say though, I only have a source's fb postings, whether it comes off or not is another thing entirely. meh.

Just trust me, Bridge will not be signing a 3 year deal, unless your source is from Gus or TB it's not as reliable as you may think.

You've just mentioned that now.. post 33..

So to get this straight, your 'reliable as reliable can get' is a FB post..?

You got this info from a Facebook post? It suddenly sounds a lot less credible than it was.

Can't see a 3 year upfront deal to be honest. More likely to be 2 years with the option of a year extension. If we don't sign him he could be off to LA Galaxy or NY Red Bulls to bolster his pension pot.

The person whose fb profile it was, is VERY legit. If I fancied getting my arse kicked I'd say who it was!!!!!

3 years... I guess that is what we have to offer to out compete the likes of LA Galaxy who would offer him treble what we could (at least) but probably only for a year. Will make great sense next season, probably not such a great idea after that, but then again maybe he could be a Tarricco character and carry on playing getting sent off for years to come. Great if he seriously wants to carry on playing football for 3 years, but not worth it if he will lose interest after a season.

He doesn't need the money and our club aren't run by idiots. This has to work for all concerned, so if its true then great. A great player, doing really well for our club right now

Quite, and we have just signed a protege for him to teach
