Inigo Calderon is one of three players rated 50/50 for the trip to Blackburn
Albion boss Gus Poyet says they are struggling to fill their seats on the plane for Saturday’s trip to Blackburn.
But he is hoping Tuesday’s 2-2 comeback at home to Millwall is a turning point for the injury-hit Seagulls.
Albion had no defenders on the bench and development squad rookie Solly March among the substitutes against the Lions.
Poyet said: “We need players. We’ve got Calde (Inigo Calderon) 50-50, Bruno 50-50, Gary Dicker 50-50. We are trying to make the number for the flight up and it’s difficult to get to 18 but I am sure the medical staff will give me good news, a couple at least.”
Poyet branded Tuesday’s second successive draw at The Amex as “bad for us” but added: “I think maybe, or we hope, this is a turning point. We couldn’t score and when we were really out of the game we somehow got back in it.
“Maybe we will go now to Blackburn, hit the target three times and score three.”
Meanwhile, Chris Wood’s international commitments with New Zealand could impact on Albion’s interest in re-signing their former loan striker following his two goals for Millwall.
Poyet said: “Let’s hope he doesn’t have to play for the national team too many times, because every time he goes he has to go to the other side of the world. You take that into consideration when you are going to sign a player.”
