Team news ahead of tomorrow night's fixture at the Amex...
Other than Vicente Gus Poyet will have a full squad to choose from for the visit of Bristol City tomorrow night. However the Uruguayan admits he has a slight selection headache at centre back with Adam El-Abd set to return to the squad.
Lewis Dunk has been deputising for the Egypt international and Poyet told seagulls.co.uk, “Adam El-Abd is going to be in the squad but we pick the players on performance and Dunky has done very well, so it is going to be difficult but we will see.
“After the performance it is difficult to change so I am not sure, there is always someone who is pushing but I am not expecting too many changes.”
Left back Wayne Bridge could be in contention but Poyet has admitted that the change in weather conditions has affected the defender’s recovery.
“Wayne is a strange situation because now we have a big issue with the pitches where we train as we are into the proper winter weather. The conditions are very difficult.
“The pitches are very wet and heavy so it makes it difficult to stand up, so players may have to wear different boots with longer studs which can then be dangerous when there is any contact.
“The medical staff are concerned because we then play on a surface at the Amex that is completely different and a lot harder compared to the training ground. That brings some problems, especially for the players with injuries, so it is not an easy situation with Bridgey and we need to be very smart.”
