If Amazon arrange collection,it is not the fault of Yodel, they get to you only and when instructed by amazon-

Lost count of the times various company's have sent stuff with the promise it will be assembled or taken into house etc only for a 3rd party courier turn up and deliver and they are only allowed to deliver to the doorstep for insurance purposes.

Amazon DID arrange collection with Yodel - it IS Yodel's fault, as they didn't do as instructed by Amazon!

Ordered a suitcase from Debenhams (who use Yodel). Yodel said it was delivered on a Saturday afternoon (and signed for) which is absolute crap because it was to an office address and the building is closed on Saturdays. There's a diversion for roadworks in the vicinity of the offices and they probably couldn't be bothered to go the long way round. Either that or someone's got a good sideline going!

Yodel are dreadful and I wouldn't use them again.

Booked a collection for some stuff I sold on eBay a couple of weeks ago which they failed to pick up on three separate occasions. Each time I waited in ALL DAY for them to turn up and each day nobody arrived. I had to really kick up a fuss about it and as I'd actually booked it through Parcel2Go they just cancelled the Yodel job and rebooked it with TNT who turned up next day without a problem.

What really macked me off though was that nobody seemed to be able to offer any explanation as to why they'd failed to turn up. No "sorry the driver didn't get time" or "there was an error" or "we couldn't find your address" - NOTHING. They just seemed to think I should have expected it. Utterly useless

I ordered some books for mother in law to be delivered on a friday morning. Friday morning came and went, no delivery so she went away for the weekend. before she left it started raining and sometime between then, and the monday morning when she returned, the knob-head from Yodel left them behind her gate, in the pissing rain.
The books were ruined and returned to amazon along with a note telling them how shite yodel are.

Problem is most of them are self employed couriers working under the franchise. Some will be good drivers and others very poor or damn right fraudulent. We had a package delivered to our house, the card was put through the door saying it had been left in our landfill bin (which was clean and empty at the time). I found it and delivered it to the correct property which was number 28 which was clearly shown on the package (we live at No. 1!). The bloke at 28 had been chasing up delivery and had been told it had been delivered and signed for. Well we were out so the only person that could have signed it was the driver!!!!!

After waiting in for two entire days for a delivery of wine, I gave up not that I then went out anywhere.

Later, I go out to bring something in from my car and what, wine is lying outside the door, no knock or ring on the bell AND, the rain is bouncing down so if I had picked up the case the bottles would have fallen straight through the bottom and smashed.

Not Impressed.

it shouldn't but i'm sure it reflects back to Amazon/Sports direct etc when they do this..

I think it should reflect badly on them - Amazon and other companies continue to use Yodel knowing full well that they're utter rubbish. That says to me that they're far more concerned about shaving a few quid off their delivery costs, than they are about ensuring that their customers actually get the goods that they've paid for. They've got no excuse for not knowing that they use a diabolically poor courier service, yet they ignore customer feedback and carry on using Yodel.

Yodel are a bunch of CJTC!!!

Ordered a pair of trainers from Sports Direct, tracked them to their 'Brighton' delivery centre and then they vanished!

A couple of emails and no response. Finally phoned them and they told me I had to call Sports Direct as I am the customer, despite the fact they had acknowledged they had lost them.

Called Sports Direct who then had to call Yodel to confirm, finally got a refund 4 days later. Waste of space, will never use a company that use them to deliver.

Now they've merged with HDNL your choices are now very limited. They are used because they are cheap, no consideration for their customers-only added profits.

I've told Amazon that once my order has been confirmed and appears in their tracking system, if YODEL/HDNL are the delivery company then I will be cancelling my order and buying elsewhere. I know they won't give a damn about my protest/action but if more people did the same then they'd need to do something.

I've seen several people on Facebook complaining about YODEL, especially with high-value items like digital cameras going missing from the Crawley depot. With forged/fake signatures on the tracking etc.

I've also had a package go AWOL this week which was sent via Hermes, tracking said it was delivered to my office on Wednesday (it wasn't).

Frankly the best courier service by several miles is DPD. They are leagues ahead of the rest, you receive an e-mail/text the night before giving the name of the driver and a 1 hour window in which the package will be delivered. Also have the option to delay the delivery to the by 1, 2 or 3 days by replying to the text.

Had one today, the window given was 11:37 to 12:37, the package arrived at 11:39.

I agree that DPD are fantastic!

http://www.scan.co.uk use them for all their deliveries, and the 1-hour window (received by e-mail & text several hours earlier) is totally accurate and usually the delivery is within 10 minutes of the start time. :clap2:

UPS are also pretty good, but don't give you such a precise delivery/collection time as DPD.

Dreadful company and service. An online company I used to work for switched their shipping provider to yodel...i've never seen so many complaints.

This lot are a bunch of ****s.

They left my missus' very expensive dress out in the pissing rain about 20 yards from our house (delivered a day late as well) on Saturday, then today claimed that they had attempted to deliver my Amazon order at 4.15- at which time I was sat in my front room- and left a contact card for the driver, neither of which they had actually done.

Wish companies would offer different couriers for a couple of quid more- I would pay a fiver on top of every delivery charge just to ensure that Yodel got nowhere near my order.
