The REMF - RIP Robert Eaton

11 years ago Robert Eaton was taken from this Earth. Gone but never forgotten. The REMF has raised around £ 120000 since 2001 and raises around £ 20000 pa to support kids locally and around the World in Robert's name.

Since 2001.

Los Peladitos - Queens , New York - $ 26 000 - 3 year package of support to 230 underprivileged kids

12 local Sussex clubs have received support and kit

Croydon club receiving 4 sets of kit

£ 5000 to Sutton Eagles club for disabled and special needs kids

£ 7000 to Seagulls Specials for disabled and special needs kids

£ 3000 to Coaching for hope in Mali, Africa for aids orphans to play football

£ 30000 for a brand new mini bus for Seagulls Specials/AITC to travel to training and tournaments which they were not able to do with any reliable transport

Donations of kit to kids in South Africa, Cambodia, Vietnam, Uganda and Kenya

Argus Charity of the year, shortlisted to 3 charities in 4 out of 10 years and winners in 2009.

Annual established events now include the Football Match, The Golf Day, The Brighton Marathon, The Quiz Night and hopefully soon the Bike Ride.

Amazing story is REMF - well said

Grief unites people - but so does sport and hope. And the work being done by the REMF in Robert’s name will make sure that, though he can never be brought back, his will be a legacy which continues long after his death.

We owe it to Robert and the 2,976 others murdered that dark, dark day 11 years ago, to keep making positives out of the most negative of all situations

Visited the memorial earlier this year and hunted out Robert's name - left an Albion flag.
I'm sure he would have been proud of what fellow fans are continuing to do in his memory and the memory of all those who lost their lives on that day.
Hope it continues for many many years to come.

This was avery interesting point at the time...I think the only one that I can remember was a Nick in NY ( I think that was his NSC name) who knew him and I think was the first to let us know that he had stopped posting . I remember the thread when something like " anyone not posted on here since 11/9 in the US" or something like that.

I also think Andy at Skint knew him?

Robert moved in high circles, he was an ex Lancing college boy and worked for Cantor Fitgerald in NY
