Player ratings - Barnsley (H)

Kooooszsack - 8, solid game. Not a lot to do but almost got that penalty and make a decent save in the first half to his top right corner.

Bruno - 9, absolute quality player. Got forward well, defended well and still lots of FLAIR. He's going to be a fan favourite.

Greer - 7. Not a lot to do but was solid.

Adam El Abd - 7. Has come a long way in his 300 appearances, a solid performance too. Must be well ahead of Dunk in the pickings now.

Bridge - 9. Same as Bruno, very good attacking and solid defensively. Didn't do much wrong and scored a cracker.

Bridcutt - 7. Not an outstanding game but protected the back four well and was in his position when he was needed.

Dicker - 7. Can't really remember anything he did apart from one cracking through ball late in the second half. Ticked over, had a decent game.

Crofts - 7. Same as Dicker. Ticked over, got involved, broke up play. Didn't set the world on fire but made it difficult for Barnsley to play.

Noone - 8. Lots of good runs. Seems to be playing the same as the beginning of last season.

CMS - 8. Played well. Two goals, second was a well taken back heal. Caused problems and his first touch and dribbling seem much improved since last season.

Barnes - 9.5. Just because I don't give 10's. Done everything you would want of a striker. Second goal was well struck and placed and the diving header for CMS's second goal was decent.

Subs:

KLL - 7. Put the defender on his arse more than once, but the final ball was lacking cutting edge. Still looked bright though.

Toby - Wasn't on long enough to rate.

Harley - 7. Got into some good positions, fluffed two chances but he isn't a striker so can't say too much about that.

Cossack 8 - Made two top drawer saves that a lesser keeper (well Gonzalez) would have misssed
Bruno 9 - Outstanding, got a bit carried away near the end when he tried playing CF but he's forgivven
Greer 8 - Had nothing to do Harewood was nowhere near either of our CB's most of the game
Hell Abd 8 - Ditto above
Bridge 9 - Pure class, great vision to see Gonzalez miles out of position and have a stab. Great turn of pace too. Cock up near the end but got away with it
Bridcutt 7 Only because I didn't see him doing anything wrong or Barnsley doing much right in his area of the pitch
Crofts 8 - Had acres of space and pretty much could do what he wanted. In total control
Dicker 6 - A deft touch 10 minutes from end otherwise I just felt he was pedestrian and made nothing happen. Didn't do anything wrong but didn't really get anything going
Noone 8 - Can't say too much apart from picked up where he left off from Cardiff game, a few mesmerising runs and ahould have scored midway through first
Barnes 10 - I should dock him 1 for yet another daft yellow but his all round contribution was outstanding and his delight for CMS almost brought a tear to my eye. Any other day that's a stone cold hat-trick
CMS 8 - The fella is versatile as anything and can play deep and wide too, he's a pest and is always there or thereabouts - his two "goals" are no less than he's deserved for the outstanding shift(s) he's put in

Subs

KLL 8 - Made the most of a crap right back, should've given CMS his hat trick rather than blast from a tight angle
Harley 7 - Only for Ackers stat's TBH I didn't see him really him do anything much but a couple of nice touches.

Tomas - 7 - couple of good saves. Controlled the box. Looked relieved when we scored the 3rd as should have saved the penalty
Bruno - 9 - very skilful. Great running down the Wing. Can defend too !!
Greer -7- didn't have to do much. Solid game
El Abd -7- 300th game today!! Well played !
Bridge -8 - great to see him on scoresheet. Makes such a difference having him there rather than Painter.
Bridcutt -8- ran the midfield as usual
Crofts -7- kept things moving in the middle
Dicker -7- broke up play well
Noone -7- played really well. Gave their right back a hard time
CMS -7- ran his socks off as usual. Shouldnt have been MOTM imo
Barnes - 10- think there may be at least one more goal given to him! Should have been MOTM. Chased back well a couple of times too.

Subs

Lua Lua - 7 - took full advantage of tiring right back
Harley -6- missed a sitter
Toby - not on long enough to influence game

Five goals without Vicente or Buckley!! Where was Buckley? The reports said he would be fit. Great result, but Barnsley were very poor.

Kusczack 8. Nearly saved the penalty. Otherwise some straightforward stops. Distribution much better than against Chelsea. An excellent acquisition.
Bruno 9. Excellent and a pleasure to watch.
Greer 7. Not a lot to do. Slowed the game down a bit too much on a couple of occasions when looking for passing opportunities.
El Abd 8. 300th game for the Albion! Steady as a rock.
Bridge 9. Another excellent acquisition. Great defending and a super goal.
Bridcutt 8. Passing off on a couple of occasions, but a better game overall than Tuesday. Bossed midfield and often had acres of space. Could be the quality of the opposition.
Crofts 8. A couple of misplaced passes, but a great addition to our midfield.
Dicker 7. Didn't do much wrong, but does seem a little slow on occasions.
Noone 8. Great game although fianl ball not always the best.
Barnes 9. Scored two, made two, defended well when required. Silly yellow card. MOM
CMS 8. Good to see him back to his best BHA form. Ball control much improved. Held the ball up well. Two well taken goals.

Subs:
KLL 8. Once he had got going (after losing the ball a couple of times) he looked good, but final ball not always the best.
Harley 7. Looked the part when he came on, but was playing against a thoroughly disheartened team.
Toby - not on long enough.

I know Bruno is good, but that is what you call flair playing as both full backs:clap2:

Do people just give Dicker the lowest score for fun? Don't want to have to defend him every week but he was superb today. That outside of the foot cross, although the wrong option, was something not many players could do. I'm sure some people on here just do not understand football...

I agree with your marks and comments. I don't know why people are marking Crofts so well when he conceded the penalty with a clumsy tackle.
