a new contract or a contract extension? Did Gus even offer him one?

I'm sure that I recall there being some talk about whether he wanted to stay here as he was affected by the negative comments coming from the stands and thought he might be better off going somewhere else. Or did I make that up?

I'll be quite pissed if we lose him because of abuse from fans.

He was one of the unannounced 1 year contract extensions last season.

You're right when you say he considered leaving due to comments from the stands. Didn't suprise me really seeing as some of it was disgusting.
