A couple taken in recent visits to Bexhill Beach, these are just taken with an iPhone and editing is done in Phone as well.

Have you changed the colours at all? Looks like a shot from the beginning of an old Knights of the Round Table type film.

Probably dropped the highlights a tad and brought the contrast up. Not major from the original though. Editing really is an art on its own and am just starting to learn really.

Just back from 17 day shoot along the Great Silk Road in Uzbekistan. Over 8000 images to go through.

Here's the Registan in Samarkand

How many photos have you combined?

Two. Two groups of planes. Just missed the second lot

PS: I might have combined three, with the planes going away just enlarged. The near ones came around a second time and are hardly enlarged at all.

The far ones were close as well but I was not quick enough.

That's the boy. However, if you're interested in an older version at a very cheap price, please PM me. I've still got my old one which performs virtually as good, but no VR.

Now To get a better camera to go with the 105 mm macro lens

I like the hi-res and the idea. Just a comment, the two on top of each other, would it be better if they were further apart, they don't quite look right, although I am on my mobile. Another composition could be them all returning to shoreham after a mission, would also look good.

Telephoto has made the planes look closer together than best. I had to quickly widen the zoom as they were so close. This is really not a false subject. I was standing in one position and I was just too slow at getting them all in the picture. And I realised I could not get both the planes and background in focus. Planes going away and close planes separated only by about two minutes, so the time was condensed into one shot.

Proceeds of sold pictures went to the victims of the air disaster.

Whether that was the blue hour or not I do love that balance between that deep dying sky and the subject illumination.

Excellent! You could do with a better Small Copper too!! Did you sort out the auto-focus problem?
I don't know what settings you had your camera on, but I use the ones that Bob Eade suggested to me, and if you look at his wonderful photos on Flickr, you'll see why.

He also shoots Nikon and uses a 105mm lens.
I think the secret is getting about 12"-18" from the butterfly and getting the angle of your lens exactly the same as the subject. Also, to get that lovely clean background, try to find an uncluttered area behind the subject. Take a pair of scissors with you to trim any odd pieces of grass.

It needs a touch of straightening.

It's a film shot, half the point is the imperfections and the character of the photographs. Not supposed to be edited.
