Great thread/question

Would absolutely include Baldock in the list. Just watch him - he is a feisty little ***ker. Don't believe for a second he'd be running away at the sign of a ruck, he'd be right in there for his teammates

in theory players i reckon would be up for it are

hemed
kayal
sidwell
duffy
dunk
stockdale
stephens

i reckon bong and goldson would have a go as well

out of our current crop if there was an all -in i reckon kayal and duffy would be two of the last left standing.

Think we can include Murray too - he is a nasty niggly sod for the oppostion to deal with. He's always talking to opposition defenders, often doing little pushes on blindside of the ref. It was Murray who started the mental devastation of Pritchard in the Norwich game.

I've been itching to :bounce: this since the Fulham the Weds games.

Ok for the newbies a quick recap:-

According to Tony Adams a team isn't a team unless you have 7 players prepared to fight the opposition, in the tunnel.
We're not talking prancing and posturing outside Dino's bar and grill, at 2 am.
Only the players prepared to hurt and be hurt in a brawl are allowed into the 7.

For us to have a team we need at least 7 players prepared to fight for the honour of team-mates, club, manager, all things Brighton and Hove Albion.

A couple of final things.

This thread is the last bastion of racial stereotyping - Luckily for Jocko Jamie Murphy.

If your still unsure of the validity of this thread, go back and read through Sami's reign.
When we couldn't get to 7.

Duffy - The equivalent of Brazil 1970.
Stockdale - He can cope with Duffy.
Dunk - Will be fighting with Stocko just to be the man next to Duffy.
Bruno - One word 'hatstand'.
Knockaert - Nothing to be said, other than it would be nice if the 'girls' could contain him
Kayal & Hemed - Butch and Sundance - Someone tries to sucker punch Kayal but Hemed will be there at the last second to chin the twerp. In the midst of battle, the boys make eye contact acknowledging they have each others back.
Skalak - Just look at his face.
Bong - scything his way through the opposition.
Sidwell - Ginger.

Special mention for the manager.

At some point he's gonna lose his shit - Proper end of level boss material.

I know Lewis has grown into a big lad, but there's always something that I can't quite put my finger on for naming him in my 7.

neil.jpg

However, Sammy B will be on of those feisty little f***ers who will dive in windmilling anything that moves

...and Stephens,

..... and Murray,

.......and Goldson

I think you can safely say we have 7

But do we have enough 'girls' who can remove Knockaert from the affray once his initial bloodlust has dissipated?

Solly can't do it on his own!

In years past it was a bit of a struggle. This year we've got about 12.

My first team squad

Duffy
Stocko
Baldock
Sidwell
Murray
Dunk
Stephens

Hemed just misses the cut as he often looks a bit sad - however, if anyone hurt a hair on his darling Beram's head, he'd be STEAMING in there.

I don't agree with Knocky being in there - watch the Sheff Weds ruck - he likes hugging and kissing people too much, he's a peacemaker. He'd be pleading with everyone to calm down.

Skalak would turn up towards the end with a massive **** off MACHETE that he would LICK and GRIN and that would end the fight, as players from both sides would end up having to restrain him..

I reckon Norwood can take care of himself. Don't exclude him because he's called Oliver.
He's from NI and they're tough over there.

Pocognoli?

Not afraid to get stuck in on the pitch, but is Belgian.

Could go either way imo.

Belgian of Italian extraction so will do lots of posturing but safe in the knowledge that his boys have got this.

Top 7:

Sidwell - steely eyed devastator
Stephens - backs up his words with actions
Duffy - the say nothing do lots of damage type
Stockdale - proper one two merchant
Kayal - absolute psycho. Completely loses his shit
Hemed - takes no shit from Hamas or anyone else for that matter
Dunk - will back anyone up, in any situation but seldom the starter

Quite a good mix I feel.

The Team:

Duffy - Proper Irish. Puts his head on the end of everything. Is smashing skulls with his own come fight night.
Stockdale - Baby faced but giant sized assassin
Stephens - loves a bit of slap and niggle
Murray - Big, niggly, having it
Baldock - Small, niggly, having it
Kayal - if it's legit, he's in it
Goldson - Tagged in by Dunk. It's the quiet ones you got to watch out for.

Bench:

Skalak - he looks like Travis Bickle. That's enough.
Hemed - anyone lays a finger on Kayal he's bringing the bench into the brawl
Bong - behind the chilled out facade lies the beating heart of a stone cold bare knuckle brawler.
Sidwell - He's Ginger.
Dunk - loves a rash challenge so is a likely to be a starter. Not sure he's a finisher.

Squad players:
Hunemeier - Big lad but he's German. They never win fights...
Norwood - Northern Irish. Mild mannered but there's steel there.
Bruno - probably a bit of a kung fu kenny.
Maenpa - Reckon he could go batshit crazy if pushed. Or drunk enough.
Pocognoli - not been at the club long enough. Got to earn his place in the match day squad.
Rosenior - seems too diplomatic and level headed to really let fly in a punch up
Knockaert - he's french. He's a lover not a fighter
Murphy - Scottish. That must count for something?
March - Probably game but come on, he's not going to deliver a knock out blow is he?

It's all rather embarrassing really.

Having a player who likes to be 'involved', is committed to the club and is a ginger, barely making the starting line up.
Not to mention a player from the traditional heartland of looneytoons, Scotchland, not even getting a mention.

I feel for everyone else.

Blimey in all the kerfuffle I nearly forgot the bi annual :bounce:

Stockdale's going is a big loss.

In all honesty I think we're going to struggle this season and that's not me being reactive, I've been checking the 'form' of all our new arrivals, real or otherwise, and it's not been good.

The usual warning, this isn't some tear up at 3am luzzing chips about the place.
This is for team mates, honour the club, disrespect one - disrespect all.

Duffy
Dunk

Bruno
Bong

Scratching around already

Knockaert - Although as usual he can't get injured.
Stephens.

Sidwell -
